In photography, there are always super slow and super busy seasons. Regardless of how busy my seasons are, I'm always searching for new shots to take, new methods, new ways to grow. I can see my growth as a photographer in the even just the past few months, but that doesn't come without effort. I put a lot of thought and work into making sure I don't become stuck, whether that's technically or creatively. I am always actively seeking inspiration. This practice is helped tremendously by loved ones who lend me their time and faces to photograph, edit, and post.

Yasha is a friend of mine and former housemate from college. She's also interested in photography and has worked in the field and a videographer as well. A few weeks back we got together and took a walk with our cameras. Of course I convinced her to let me take photos of her, and she took photos of me! As a photographer, it's always strange being in front of a camera. I'm used to knowing how to adjust and how things look from the opposite perspective, and Yasha felt the same. She showed me one of her favorite spots which required climbing some rusty stairs on the Southside on the Church Route that led us to a caged in overpass above two parallel train tracks. Three trains sped through underneath us in the fifteen minutes that we were up there. It's really a unique urban spot that's easily missed!

I'm thankful for friends like Yasha that allow me to take some of their time to photograph them, allowing me to be better and stay creative. When a shoot isn't a "job", and the model isn't a "client", it gives me even more creative reign to be able to experiment with lighting, colors, and compositions. Here are some of my latest experiments from this shoot!
