The weather this fall has been absolutely confusing! In Western Pennsylvania, I've been ready for brisker temperatures, boots, and the changing colors of the autumn leaves. But we've been stuck in temperatures hovering around 80 degrees keeping me feeling like it's still summer! Fortunately, I got to do a senior photography session that made me feel like fall wasn't so far away! We traveled to Mingo Creek County Park early one Sunday afternoon to scope out some good photo spots!

The must have spot is of course with one of the many red covered bridges. So we met Katelyn and her family and started there! She even brought her dog for a few shots! Who if I must say, cooperated more than some humans, even flashing a few puppy smiles! Beside the Henry Bridge is a beautiful white barked tree with huge outstretching branches. Katelyn and her sister had the idea to get Katelyn in the tree, so we had some people hoist her up onto one of the branches and she rocked it! It was a totally different shot than I've ever had the opportunity to take! I'm thankful for fun seniors. She even kicked back and had a book with her for a few minutes up in that tree!

We then made our way to some of the old stone buildings to get photos of her in her volleyball gear. After taking some posed photos, I had Katelyn have a little fun by hitting the volley ball around a little, doing what she knows how to do best! After getting some action shots of her in her volleyball uniform, we made our way to the final location. Up on the hill by the observatory are huge fields of golden flowers (they may technically be weeds, but boy are they pretty either way!). I saved this spot for last so we could get some sun flares and light leaks at golden hour that enhanced the color of the fields. The lighting and colors really made me feel like fall is finally here! These are some of my favorite photos from the session! Katelyn's sister became a great assistant for the shoot and we were all goofing around getting Katelyn to smile. We ended the session by Katelyn's request in the creek! We picked a spot where trees that were turning into fall colors were reflecting in the water.

I absolutely loved this session! I don't often have the opportunity to photograph seniors, but I really am thankful when I do! I think it's exciting for me to be able to capture some of these moments in such an exciting transitional time in young adults lives. They all have different hopes, different aspirations, are going to different places, jobs, & colleges. I love being able to be even a small part in remembering that time.
